Las relaciones humanas del mundo moderno están enmarcadas por instituciones que regulan las acciones de los agentes mediante reglas de juego previamente definidas y reconocidas. En ese contexto, el comercio internacional es regulado por normas que facilitan el intercambio de bienes y servicios, y es allí donde el Estado interviene para asegurar la protección de sus intereses nacionales y alentar a los foráneos a invertir sus capitales bajo la certidumbre que éste les cuidará como si se trataran de los suyos. Este artículo pretende, bajo un enfoque descriptivo, entender la influencia del marco jurídico local en los niveles de inversión extranjera que ingresan al país.

Human relations in the modern world are framed by institutions that regulate the actions of agents by previously defined and recognized rules of engagement. In this context, international trade is regulated by laws that facilitate the exchange of goods and services and is there where the state intervenes to ensure the protection of its national interests and to encourage foreign investment with the certainty that their capital will be taken care of as if it was its own. This article pretends, under a descriptive approach, to understand the influence of the domestic legal framework on the levels of foreign investment entering the country.
